My 4 star review for From the Embers by Aly Martinez
An absolutely emotional read! The author wrote such a gut-wrenching story about loss, grief, companionship, family and finding happiness again. I'll be honest, I didn't really see how the H and h were going to work out due to their distaste for one another in the beginning. But it absolutely worked! This author did not have any issues kicking you when you were down, which just added to the emotion of the story. I thought this story did a wonderful job of highlighting the need to lean on someone when tragedy strikes. The need to reach out for support and take any help that's offered. This book had so many ups and downs but ended on the highest note. A great read!
