Away Game by Harlow Layne Release Blitz & Review
The plan was to move away and never look back.
Get away from him, out from under my father’s disapproving stare, and start a new life in Willow Bay.
It was supposed to be my fresh start, but instead my past followed me.
The one thing I desired and couldn’t have.
Weston Jackson.
I hated how he made me feel things that I couldn’t give into without turning my world upside down.
I wanted to make him pay.
For the way my father now looked at me. For the way I saw myself.
But most of all… for wanting him the way I did.
This is a full-length high school and college enemies-to-lovers and new adult romance with high angst, suspense, and gutting emotion. It's book one in the Willow Bay series that will have interlinking storylines. Away Game can be read as a standalone and starts off a four-book planned series. This is the only MM story. The others are MF.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love me an angsty, bully, enemies to lovers, sports type storyline especially when it's a M/M romance! Harlow Layne did an incredible job keeping you on the edge of your seat with this couple's story! Fin was such a confused, frustrating, entitled jerk for a good portion of the read but I still found him endearing. Weston was perfection! There is not a single bad thing I can say about his character or how he navigated this complicated love story. He was a legit good guy to his core!
The emotional back and forth gave me whiplash but it eventually steadied once Fin got his act together and stopped caring what everyone else thought and focused on what was going to make him happy. I loved how he leaned on West and took his words to heart. Weston was truly Fin's light in a world of darkness.
Steam in this book was off the charts!!!! The author just kept writing hotter and hotter scenes and I was loving it! Especially considering Fin hadn't been with a guy before. West was such a patient and giving coach! ;)
I enjoyed the sports element of this story, especially the team comradery / close quarters and the side characters who brought a lot of support and humor to this couple's story. Fin's best friend Oz was definitely one of my favorite characters and I hope he gets a book in the series because I'm going to need to know why him and the little sister's BFF aren't a thing yet (or are they????? hehe)
The ending was so sweet. My only negative about it was that I feel like Fin didn't get his portion of the story wrapped up well. We got a summary of how West finished college and went Pro but it seemed like Fin's summary was missing a lot. I needed more details! The HEA events at the very end seemed a little off but I was okay with it.
